Murphy wins Ballybeg Run.

> Over 200 competed in the Cill Barra/Ballybeg 6 km road run and walk on
> Saturday last in excellent conditions. The run developed into a two
> man race from early on between Brian Murphy Carrick on Suir and Trevor
> Power Waterford and they ran shoulder to shoulder for the majority of
> the event. In the final 200 metres or so Murphy sprinted clear to win
> in 18 minutes and 31 seconds,Power was second in 18.34  and Brian
> Swaby was third in 20.44.The very impressive winner of the ladies race
> was Susan Finn in 22.04,Elaine O'Donovan was second in 23.39 and Diane
> Behan Waterford was third in 24.36 The category winners were as
> follows Women :Junior  Emma Caulfield Waterford, o35 Catherine Mooney,

> On Saturday evening in a 5 miles road race in Rosslare Andrew Connick
> Ferrybank was first home in 25 minutes and 15 seconds,his club  mate
> Niall Tuohy was second in 26.11 and another Ferrybank athlete Paul
> Gallagher was 10 th in 28.56 and Ferrybank with these three won the
> team award.

> Primary Schools Cross Country

> Ferrybank AC promote their Annual Waterford Primary Schools Cross
> Country at the RSC on Tuesday September 16 th at 12.30 pm. Races for
> boys and girls from 1 st class to 6 th class over short distances.
> Medals for first twelve home in each race and Perpetual Trophies for
> Best Large School Boys, Best Large School Girls and Best Small School.
> Please note the event is for schools in Waterford City and surrounding

> With the Track season just ended the Cross Country season is upon us.
> On Sunday next the Adamstown open fixture is in County Wexford and
> many athletes from Waterford clubs will be competing there ,races for
> Girls & Boy U9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16, Junior & Senior,the fixture
> begins at 12 noon. On Sunday September 28 th the Annual Open fixture
> is in Kilmacow. Fixtures for the Waterford Cross Country season should
> be available this week end.
